Why a whole site for one waterfall
Search for Dynjandi and you get cruise-line landing pages, aggregator listings that repeat the same paragraph, and posts written by people who saw it once from the car park. None of them tell you which departure fits a six-hour port call, when Road 60 over Dynjandisheiði actually reopens, or that the climb gains 100 metres and the top half is wet stone.
So this page collects the practical answers in one place: the walk, the road, the season, the operators, and what each trip costs today. Everything gets checked against the operators' own listings and against the Icelandic Road Administration rather than against other blogs.
How the trips here are chosen
Nine trips are listed, and they are the ones bookable to Dynjandi at the time of writing. They are ordered by how much evidence stands behind them, not by what pays best:
- Ratings and review counts appear exactly as the operator reports them, including the ones with fourteen reviews
- Departures timed to cruise calls are marked as such, because a taxi cannot make up time on this road
- Prices are per person in US dollars and get rechecked when the page is updated
- Anything that cannot run in winter says so instead of quietly dropping off the list
How this site pays for itself

Who writes it
Sigrún Halldórsdóttir grew up in Ísafjörður and has been driving the run south to Dynjandi since 2013, first for an operator and now on her own schedule. Thirteen summers of crossing Dynjandisheiði, and enough winters watching it close, to know when a forecast is lying. She checks road.is before coffee and would rather tell you to skip a departure than sell you a wet hour in the car park.
